Dal Cubes



INGREDIENTS:
1.  Chana dal 1 cup (wash and soak for 4 hours)
2.  Coconut grated 1 cup (dry of fresh)
3.  Onion 1 chopped
4.  Turmeric powder ½ tsp
5.  Green chills 3 (or to your taste)
6.  Salt to taste
7.  Hing (asafetida) a pinch
8.  Oil 1 tsp and for deep frying
9.  Water as required
METHOD:    
·  After soaking for 4 hours wash and put  dal into the grinder and grind for few seconds adding little water at a time



·   Then to that add onion,coconut,green chilli,salt,hing,turmeric powder ,oil and grind again adding little water at a time to form smooth paste
·  The mixture should not be too thick and too loose
·  Then pour the mixture into round dish grease with oil


·  Then steam for 15 minutes (medium heat)


·  After that let it cool completely
·  Then flip back into cutting board
·  And cut into small cubes


·  And deep fry in medium heat till light brown(fry 10 cubes at a time)


·  Serve hot with tomato ketchup and chilly sauce

Note:
  • If you dont have steamer can use pressure cook,pour half liter water into the pressure cooker and place small steel bowl in the center of the cooker and now place the dish on the top of the bowl,close the lid dont lock it and also dont use whistle and steam for 15 minutes (medium heat).
