INGREDIENTS:
1. Chicken ½ kg (cut into medium sized pieces)
2. Onion 2 (one for paste, one finely sliced)
3. Garlic cloves 4 chopped
4. Yoghurt ½ cup beaten
5. Saffron a pinch (dissolved in 1 Tbsp water)
6. Coriander powder ½ Tbsp
7. Red chilli powder 1 tsp or to your taste
8. Garam masala ½ tsp
9. Cream or milk 1Tbsp
10. Almonds 15 (blanched and skinned)
11. Oil 3 to 4 Tbsp
12. Salt to taste
METHOD:
1. Clean ,wash and dry the chicken
2. Soak almonds in warm water for ½ an hour, then remove the skin and chop
3. Make the marinade with paste of 1 onion,almonds,salt and garlic
4. Apply marinade to the chicken and keep for 1 hour or 3 hours
5. Heat oil and fry the remaining sliced onion and set aside
6. In the same oil, add marinated chicken and cook until liquid dries up
7. Then add beaten yoghurt, fried onion, red chilli powder, coriander powder and continue cooking in medium low heat
8. When chicken is almost done ,add cream or milk,saffron,salt,garam masala and 2 -3 Tbsp warm water
9. Cover with a tight lid and simmer for 8 minutes in very low heat
10. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving
