Chana Masala


Hi visitors …everyone has their own way of making Chana masala…..as this dish is one of my favorite recipes…so I want to share with u all……J
INDREDIENTS:
1.     Chana (chick peas) 1 cup ( boiled and drained all water)
2.     Jeera ½ tsp
3.     Green chillies 2 slit
4.     Onion 1 large paste or grated
5.     Ginger and garlic paste 1tsp
6.     Coriander powder 1 tsp
7.     Jeera powder ½ tsp
8.     Red chilli powder ½ tsp
9.     Chana masala powder 1 tsp ( I used Mother’s Chana masala powder )
10.   Tomato 1 large (puree)
11.   Garam masala powder ½ tsp
12.   Turmeric powder ½ tsp
13.   Coriander leaves chopped
14.   Oil 3 to 4 Tbsp
15.   Salt to taste
METHOD:
·     Soak Chana over night and then in pressure cooker add chana,salt and turmeric and boil it
·      In a pan add oil to that add Jeera and green chillies and onion paste and mix well and cook till onion turns brown
·      Then  add ginger and garlic paste, coriander powder,jeera powder, red chilli powder and Chana masala powder, also add some 2 to 3 Tbsp water (can use the boiled Chana water)
·     When all the masala is done add tomato puree and cook for another 5 minutes
·     Then add Chana and salt ,close the lid and cook for 10 minutes in medium low heat
·      Last add garam masala powder and coriander leaves
·      Garnish with onion ring and lime
